I woke up not knowing that my shoot with Trixie was actually happening today. Typical me! Being overworked, stressed, and having a restless mind doesn’t really help me remember things (sorry, Trixie!) ANYWAY, I rushed to get to her. Thank God I live near Makati so it didn’t take long ’til I got there (I was literally saying “fuq” a billion times while I was in the Uber ride).
I had an hour to shoot, and that included the walks to different locations. I haven’t felt this stupid in such a long time, photography-wise. Like, I know how to make my camera work, but somehow my brain just couldn’t direct well. Some of my images were either overexposed, or underexposed. I probably only had like.. Five decent-looking ones. BUT thankfully, Trixie has naturally gorgeous features, and she really didn’t need to do much for the photos to have that “oomph”. She was worrying about her “Resting Bitch Face” and I was like “GIRRRL that’s perfect, it means you don’t even have to make an effort to look good!” (Chronic RBF team represent gurl)
So okay, here’s the thing. If it wasn’t for Lightroom, my photos would be pure shit (again, sorry Trixie, I wasn’t able to do my best and I was awkward af). I’m just gonna put that out there because I want to be honest about this whole journey thing I’ve got going on. But that only makes me want to work harder. I need redemption! (I do have a couple more shoots planned ahead so. There’s that.) But then having meh photos just made me want to experiment more while I was editing.
At first, I was pegging really straightforward photographs. Bold colors, high contrast, direct sunlight, all that stuff. But then the weather didn’t cooperate so, I ended up with photos that looked softer. I don’t usually do this kind of editing, but I do fancy mixing it up a little every now and then (but in this case, it’s been a pretty long time since I’ve mixed anything up lol).
Hope you guys enjoy my photographs! Critique if you must, but pls be nice.
